I have been a professional photographer since 1972.  I worked for and eventually owned a high volume school portrait business in Chicago for 11 years.  I recently retired, after 25 years of service from the position of Staff Photographer for The City of Chicago. 

I have a passion for photography and music and have photographed many of the top Jazz and Blues acts from the 80's untill the present.  One of my ongoing self projects involves making what I call "Performance Portraits" of musicians.  In 2009 I was one of 5 photographers whose work was choosen for inclusion in the book "Jazzography: A Portrait of the Chicago Jazz Fest at 30".  I also served as co-staff photographer and board member for Willie Dixon's "Blues Heaven Foundation" for 10 years.
